The Rivers state High Court has barred Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, from further mention of Prince Uche Secondus, the National Chairman of PDP in his looters list.
Lai Mohammed released a looters list on March 28th with Secondus listed as one of the looters. Secondus was alleged to have collected N200 million from the office of the former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, during the 2015 campaign period.
In protest, Secondus filed a N1.5 billion lawsuit against Mohammed, challenging the inclusion of his name in the list, an act he viewed as defamatory. Also named as co-defendant was the Federal government.
At the first hearing of the lawsuit yesterday, the trial Judge and Chief Judge of River state, Justice I. A. Iyayi-Lamikanta, granted the order for one of two prayers in a motion by Prince Secondus seeking interlocutory injunction in restraining the defendants from further publishing the libelous content.
Lai Mohammed nor his counsel were in court to prove why it is important for Secondus's name to be included in the list. The judge adjourned the case to April 28th.
