Ghanaian teenager Ebenezer Mensah, a student of Swedru
School of Business, is 7 feet tall and has since become a celebrity on campus
and beyond after his photos went viral on social media. Ebenezer Mensah
The first photo that drew the attention of Ghanaians
on social media to him was a photo of him with his headmaster and his
assistant.
While Ghanaian musician Patapaa praised Swedru for
giving birth to the tallest man in Ghana and prayed that he is coached to be
one of the best basketball players in the world, popular sports personality,
Saddick Adams has also revealed he has received calls from three world class
football coaches who are willing to sponsor the young man abroad and to teach
him basketball all for free.
In 2018 when the lad clocked 16, Ghana’s
telecommunications giant, MTN, donated a special bed and a mono desk to him.
They made the donation following a publication by Ghana’s
leading newspaper Daily Graphic on the difficulties; Ebenezer Mensah goes
through in accessing his bed and desk.
Talking about similar difficulties he encounters at
home, Mensah said due to his height he always had to bend down before entering
their house and rooms, adding that “I can't sleep on my own bed at home because
it is too short for me, I always have to bend my legs while sleeping on the bed
or rest on the upper frame up on the bed while my legs hang off the bed”.
He is the only child of his parents and lives with
his mother at Ankyease, a suburb of Agona Swedru.

Derrick
With a height of 6 feet 7 inches, Derrick (as he
chooses to be called) is arguably one of the tallest living men in Ghana. Being
a high school graduate, Derrick is a member of the Hoops Care International
Basketball Team in Cape Coast. As a basketball player, he is said to be a
quiet, reserved individual who rarely visits public places.Derrick
3 Jude Ogba
This young man called Jude became the side attraction at the 2019
Chale Wote festival due to his height. Chale Wote Festival is an annual event
organized to display mind-blowing crafts and artistry at James Town in Accra.Jude Ogba
Twitter handle user @delisworldwide who
happens to be Ghana based Nigerian musician Delis posted the above picture on
twitter and wrote: ‘’My younger brother became a celeb at chalewote today,’’
Delis said that his brother is around
6.10ft tall and people at the event were quick at crowning Jude, the tallest
man seen so far at the event.
Young ladies were seen thronging the
young lad for a photograph.
4 Charles Sogli
Celebritiesbuzz.com.gh recently reported that a 20-year-old
man called Charles Sogli who hails from Ziope, in the Volta Region of Ghana
could be the tallest man in Ghana as a result of his 8 feet height. He is said to so far be the tallest in the
region upon authentic checks.
According to Sir Polymath Agbanyo who interviewed
him on Ho 92.5 FM, Charles is said to have dropped out of school because of
unavailability of a suitable shoe size.
The extra-large slippers which he wears, was
specially made for him at the cost of around GHC75 or 13 USD. He said to have enrolled
as an apprentice in a welding workshop.
Another major challenge Charles is said to encounter
is discomfort when he sleeps, since he’s longer than his bed.

Abdul Sonnet Suleyman
Ghana’s tallest man Abdul Sonnet Suleyman popularly
known as “Awuche” is unfazed by his stature but rather aspires for greatness
and international recognition with his gigantic stature.Abdul Sonnet Suleyman
The 8- feet tall 27year old indigene of Nalerigu in
the East Mamprusi municipality in the North East Region of Ghana, said he was
born a short person but at age 10, he realized that he was growing
astronomically tall, prompting his parents and opinion leaders in the community
to have a second look at his growth by consulting the oracles.
Speaking with
the Editor of senaradioonline.com in an interview he said “I feel exceptional
because of my height and people always want to come closer to me and take
pictures with me”,
He added that his utmost aim is to use his unique
personality to attain an international recognition which he said would also
help attract investors or tourists into Nalerigu, thereby boosting the economic
fortunes of the community whilst also benefiting from it as a person.
Awuche as he likes to be called however said, in spite of his looks, he thanks God for how far he has brought him through a stature which he says now brings food to his table.
