Ghanaian singer
Rebecca Acheampong, popularly known by her stage name as Becca, has admitted
she was quite taken aback by the negative reactions from her country folks when
she got married to her Nigerian husband Tobi Sanni Daniels.
According to her, she thought Ghanaians were reputed to be hospitable people so she didn’t understand why they acted that way towards her husband.
“When i got married to a Nigerian, there was mixed reactions and I was really surprised because I know Ghanaians are the most hospitable people in the world, so I wondered if the reaction would have been different if i married an American or an European,” she said.
She made the comment at the premiere of her new song “Yes I Do” when she was asked by actress Haillie Sumney how she was able to handle negative comments from Ghanaians when she got married to Tobi.
Becca and her husband tied the knot August 2018 in a ceremony held in Accra. The couple have a 7-month-old daughter.
